Why I ordered this watch

In my quest to explore and find great watches with superior luminosity I discovered a watch company by the name of Reactor, nice name but no affiliation with this site unfortunately. Reactor watches feature what they call the Reactor DNA, which includes the following: Solid Forged cases, Superluminova markings, forged case backs, solid screwbars and screw-down crowns among other features shared by their product watch lineup.

After years of going without a watch I felt the need to return to using a simple wrist time keeper. I was tired of pulling out my smartphone every time I just wanted to quickly check the time. My main goal was to go back to my roots of simplistic analog design but with a classy neo-pilot/military style.

After researching literally thousands of watches online for a few weeks I decided to lean towards analog type watches for their simple functions yet classy, elegant designs and readability. Most, if not all the watches I was interested in had to have a lumed dial, did I mention i'm a bit of a lume freak. I decided to try a Reactor watch.

Appearance
I guess the best way to describe the Reactor Fusion II watch is it looks like a watch the Terminator would wear if he were going to an elegant intimate dinner party and planned on blowing-up a few city blocks along the way, basically badass meets classy sophistication. Offering a refined look with its streamlined, rectangular case with striking all black design.

I really love the way this watch looks and performs. It's elegant, simple to read rectangular dial and unique 6 o'clock day/date display set it far apart from your average round analog pieces. If you're looking for a beefy yet classy designed analog watch this might be worth some serious consideration.

Strap - Wearing the Reactor Fusion II
First thing you will notice is the watch is built like a tank, literally. The weight of the watch comes in at 195-grams. I'll save you a google conversion search, thats right at 0.43 pounds, yes almost half-a-pound of solid forged stainless-steel sitting on your wrist. When you strap this watch on there will be no mistaking you are sporting almost half-a-pound of forged steel planted deep into your wrist. Prepare for daily left-handed work-outs and I don't mean surfing for internet porn.

Besides the obvious mega-weight of the watch it is pretty comfortable on the wrist. The Reactor Fusion II watch looks a feels great on my 7.75-inch wrist without looking dwarfy. After buying half-a-dozen watches recently this is one of the few watches where the original watch band fits perfectly and is not too small. So if you have larger than normal wrists this may be one of the few watches where you don't have to pony up and have to buy a new watch strap just to wear your watch.

Lume Display - Does it glow?
The Reactor Fusion II watch comes with a lumed face, which means it has a glowing-luminous display, expose the watch to a bright light and the luminous dial will glow for hours. The hands and numbers feature a rich very bright fluorescent green lume glow. Like Seiko, Reactor uses SuperLuminova lume which performs much better than your run of the mill drug store watches which also have the lume feature. I have recently purchased a few really affordable watches made in China from ebay which have a lumed dial and they do not even come close to lume brightness or lasting power of Seiko's or Reactor's luminosity.

Performance
The Reactor Fusion II sports a Japanese quartz drive movement. Also every Reactor features what the watch company calls "The Reactor DNA" which is:

"Our claim to be the Best Built Performance Sport Watch isn't just marketing hype. Reactor was conceived from day one to design out any weakness and improve any feature possible. The result of this "genetic engineering" is the Reactor DNA, a set of features that is shared by every Reactor Watch. This DNA forms the core of a product that will outlast and outperform every other watch you have ever owned."

And I'm pretty sure they are 100-percent true to that statement..

Fit and finish
I am absolutely thrilled with how the Reactor Fusion II sports watch looks, feels and performs. This is one hell-u-va beefy watch that seems to have it all, looks, performance/sportiness, elegance and simplicity wrapped up in a kickass design.

The size of the Reactor Fusion II bezel, 39- x 47.5mm, leans towards the larger spectrum of todays trendy large masculine styles and size. The Reactor Fusion II simple and elegant design is easy to read and the dial lume performs quiet remarkable, really outstanding, compared to other watches in the same price range. The watch band fits perfect out of the box on my 7.75-inch wrist and can be sized down for smaller wrists..

Final core-reaction

The Reactor Fusion II is a extremely well designed watch which is fairly affordable and packs a classy, simple elegant design with drop dead sexy performance. The look and feel along with the Superluminova luminosity is quite possibly the "perfect" watch.
